Welcome to Habbydays!
We are a family run haberdashery and craft shop with a penchant for sustainable creativity. Born in 2008 out of frustration, our founders found it hard to source the kind of materials that they wanted to use and so started out to make their own path towards having a good stock of fabrics, haberdashery and tools with which to craft with and share with other like minded people.
Now what was a dying past time, crafting has come back in a huge way. Each year the turn out at large conventions and shows have grown not only in size but in demographic.
With expertise and experience in theatre, engineering, cosplay and tailoring with a keen interest in technical, functional clothing and fashion our founders love to make. Small, electrical circuitry within garments and accessories, to individual, modern homewares, coordinating creative activities for young minds and advising on living well, with well made, well thought out wares and really knowing the amazing feeling of “I made that”.
We have a huge interest in the world around us and believe in making every scrap count, we share our ideas about crafting on a budget, caring for your tools and mini projects to use up small amounts of materials and fabrics. We specialise in and promote organic, fair trade and oeko-tek fabrics ensuring that there will be no nasty surprises and giving an alternative to those crafters who wish to go down a more natural route.
Our first love is garment construction. We carry everything you would need to make a piece of clothing from scratch. As well as shoe making materials, jewellery making materials and tools, dyes, beads, trims and elastics to not only make your entire wardrobe but also how to update your existing clothing.
So how do we work?
You can buy from us in 3 different ways:
Online. We have been selling online since 2008 and supply the UK. We endeavour to process orders within 3-5 days and post mostly through Royal Mail, 1st Class Signed For Service. Larger items such as Dress forms are sent via courier. If you are local to St Neots, Cambs we offer a free delivery service. Please note, as we need to verify your address you will need to enter your full address for the ‘Free Delivery’ option to appear at check out.
2) From our showroom. We have a newly opened showroom at our warehouse (for information on location and hours, see ‘Find Us‘). There we house a selection of what we stock. There are over 100 fabrics in the showroom as well as kits, yarn, sewing patterns, embroidery materials, paints, adhesives, notions, ribbons. etc. You can buy directly from that selection like any other shop. This selection will change as we cycle though our products to best show off our full catalogue.
3) From our kiosk. Don’t see what you want in the showroom? Order from our in house kiosk, our staff will be happy to make an order for you which will be processed and picked from our warehouse for free delivery or collection.
Please note: Our warehouse is not a public area and is for Habbydays staff only, sorry.
