Using your choice of either the Closet Case Ginger Jeans (skinny fit) or Morgan Jeans (boyfriend style), you will learn how to make yourself a gorgeous pair of denim jeans.
The Ginger Jeans are designed for stretch denim can be made as either a comfortable low rise jean with narrow stovepipe legs or a high-waisted jean with skinny legs and a tummy-slimming pocket stay. The Morgan, slim boyfriend jeans are designed for non-stretch & selvedge denim. The Morgan is a mid-rise jean that fits snugly through the hip but relaxes and conforms to your curves with a little wear.
You will learn
- How to construct the jeans to your size and make simple fitting alterations
- How to use decorative topstitching in the construction of the jeans
- How to make a traditional five pocket construction
- How to attach jean patch pockets
- How to make a jean fly front with buttons or a zip (depending on pattern)
- How to make a contoured waistband
This workshop is suitable for those who have already made intermediate to advanced garments before and are competent at using sewing patterns and a sewing machine. Depending on your past level of experience and your choice of pattern, you may not completely finish the project in the two sessions.
